Whats up!

Well it seems like I spend too much time with the horses and not updating my web site and the Artisan Dressage FB page! It has a busy month including a long journey to Wisconsin to pick up Kilowatt and teach for 3 coooooold days!!! The travel went well with no breakdowns (one minor blip) and Kilowatt “Kitt” traveled like a pro! He spent 3 days in his rolling box stall, unloaded like a champ and has been soaking up San Diego sunshine! He and his turnout buddy Rosie, Ellie’s 3 yr old Sir Gregory filly, are fast friends. It may be time to have a baby shower for all to meet him!!

New Wisconsin Clinic

“I’m sure she knows, but Elizabeth Johnson is the best. After working our butts off two weeks ago, we are starting to get to a rideability level that would have taken me several months to get to by myself. Now I even have a rhythmical hunter pony over fences that happily accepts half halts. Thank you!!!”

Recently I have started going to Wisconsin to teach!! The group of riders and horses are such a pleasure to work with. Tonight on Face book one of the rider’s posted this post and I am beyond flattered! I just have to share!

World Cup week!!!

Many of us are fortunate enough be able to go to the World Cup in Las Vegas!!! So excited to see these top horses compete and cheer on our own riders! These are a couple of interesting articles about how the horses from Europe are getting here!

Finally new updates on web site!!!!

It has been way too long since I have really given my web site attention!! I hope to keep it up to date with the latest info and what is coming up!

Artisan dressage highlights of late include;

I gave a very successful test riding clinic where 16 riders came to Peppertree Farms in Poway to ride their 2015 test of choice and work to perfect it! It was great fun and some have requested we do another!I attended both of the new test clinics put on by SD-CDS and CDS, continuing to focus on my continuing education and how I can better prepare my students.

I continue my teaching tours of San Diego County and  have enjoyed having Peppertree Farms as my home away from home as it is a lovely facility and such great people!

This coming week some students are attending Dressage Affaire! I am excited as this is the kick off of the show season for many. My young horse Leo will be attending as the camp mascot.

Great News!!!

On the first day of competition at NAJYRC in Kentucky, Katie’s Colorado region won the GOLD Medal for the team competition! Our home region 7 won the SILVER for Young Riders and Junior Young riders! Tomorrow is the individual competition day and we have high hopes for Victoria Fernalld riding Amazing from Katie’s barn in Co. Go Katie and Victoria! (And did I mention how proud I am of the second generation young rider coach?)

On the home front, I am excited to have closed up my show year until Championships qualifying Artisan for 4th level CDS and USDF. He has been the little engine that could going up a level in training while reshaping and rehabing his muscles and showing while doing it! Gotta love a horse with heart.

RAAC is coming up soon and it looks like we will have a good showing with Pam on Urbana, Lena on Harry, Joleen on Solitaire and Karen on Revance! Proud of all of you!

Show info!!!

The show season is underway! After a slow start things are rolling. In San Diego congratulations are due to Joleen for great scores in the high 60’s to 70’s and a high point in Temecula in training level on Solitaire!!! Artisan and I had our first outing in  a year going 4th level for the first time getting 2 67%s !!!! His back is healing and happy in his new Trilogy saddle and getting stronger each day!

Last weekend Katie took Caroline (from Colorado) and her Morgan pony mare to the Festival of Champions at Gladstone NJ!! They achieved 3 place… In the nation!!!!

That  same weekend I spent 4 days with 3 other girls from Katie’s Colorado barn and took them and 4 horses to a show in Greeley. They did super getting scores from 60% to 68%! They are vying for positions on the region 5 NAJYRC Championships.

This coming weekend 6 (16 &17) is the San Diego Chapter show at Rancho Riding Club. Here are the times if anyone is interested in coming! All info on the show are on the San Diego Chapter web site.

Finally Updates…and there are quite a few!

It has been busy seeming like the Holidays just plowed right into spring! (almost). We have had relocations, additions and a little reconstruction of business.

KATIE HAS RELOCATED TO COLORADO! She has expanded Artisan Dressage to Greenwood Village just outside of Denver. She moved in early Feb. Her job is at a private barn and she is having the opportunity  to share her young rider knowledge with 5 young aspiring riders!!!! I am excited to go there and visit!

NEW BABY!!! On March 6th Ellie’s mare Cappy gave birth to an adorable filly, Feline, by Freestyle. After 2 weeks of sleeping in the barn with a VERY fussy mare she had a quiet birth we were able to witness.

CLINICS: I have taken over Katie’s clinics in Los Angeles area (Palos Verdes Penn and Long Beach). Next one April 1st What a nice group of people and horses. I also continue to go to Ramona as well, next one is April 21st. Please contact me if you are interested in riding.

SHOWS:

Mar 24, 4 riders from the LA area are competing in Somis and I will accompany them, as coach only. GOOD LUCK Pam, Lena, Karen and Lisa. 🙂

In San Diego we are hoping to participate in the Creek Hollow CDS show on April 7th, Temecula April 14 & 15  and Del Mar National April 26.
