Whats up!

Well it seems like I spend too much time with the horses and not updating my web site and the Artisan Dressage FB page! It has a busy month including a long journey to Wisconsin to pick up Kilowatt and teach for 3 coooooold days!!! The travel went well with no breakdowns (one minor blip) and Kilowatt “Kitt” traveled like a pro! He spent 3 days in his rolling box stall, unloaded like a champ and has been soaking up San Diego sunshine! He and his turnout buddy Rosie, Ellie’s 3 yr old Sir Gregory filly, are fast friends. It may be time to have a baby shower for all to meet him!!

Welcome Siratello

Katie and I made a mad dash back to Wisconsin to pick up the newest member of our barn!! Telli is an oldenburg yearling by Sagnol. He made the journey home like a trooper and we even missed bad weather! Katie bought him from Eowyn Brewer or Serendipity Sporthorses. Look for the next star in a few years!

Meeko 1/31/1996 – 7/25/2010

On July 25, 2010 my good buddy Meeko (14) was lost to a tragic case of colic. He was a big personality in our barn and taught Katie so much for her competitive life. I was out of the country on vacation and could not be with him and I am so grateful for those that took care of him. We miss him terribly but are happy he is not in pain any more. Rest your adorable sole my friend.

Good Bye Oreo

Oreo and KatieSad day here. We lost our beloved Oreo tonight. She has given so much. She taught Katie how to love a horse/pony; appreciate their sense of humor, ride determined, trust like a friend and play lots of fun games! The insurmountable time Katie and Jessica (on Melanie) spent on their ponies was so fun to watch. Katie got her when she was 4 which put Oreo at about 33 yrs old. We all will miss her.

Broodmare for sale SOLD! Congratulations Lori

Marahoote, our broodmare, is for sale. I need to scale back and focus on the riding horses! She is the mother of Artisan and Santayo (the now 2 year old) She is 16.3 h, 15 yrs old. KWPN but also in the ISR/NA and Oldenburg Breeders Society studbooks. I showed her through 2nd level winning the San Diego Chapter Champion Award. In her showing she had very high scores in the 70’s. Unfortunately an old injury surfaced and I had to retire her. I am considering ANY OFFER.

Hammy aka Gadget found a home!!!!!!

Katie’s first dressage horse found a special home where he can show her the ropes and enjoy life! He is in the mountains of Descanso enjoying his new pony club mom, another Katy! As well as that he has a herd of cows to keep him entertained! I miss the little guy but am so happy that he has a full life once again.
